Versalift launches bridge inspection model

Versalift has expanded its European product offering with the introduction of a new bridge inspection model.

Its move into bridge inspections units starts with the Aspen A62. The company said the introduction of the purpose-built unit was part of a strategic move to address issues around bridge safety.

It said, “Bridge inspection is of high importance in Europe, as bridge safety is an ongoing concern for governments. The use of quality bridge inspection units helps ensuring highway safety, durability of bridges, proper capital investments and much more.”

Designed to allow operators to view bridges from above, alongside and below, the company’s Aspen A62 model is mounted on a 8x4 Volvo FM 430 chassis.

The unit has a horizontal under-bridge reach 18.8m and a vertical down reach of 20.6m. It features two rotating turntables and multiple articulating and telescopic booms that can be deployed from either side of the machine.

In addition to requiring no outriggers, the A62 also includes an interchangeable platform that allows operators to use either a 272kg inspection basket or a work platform.

The lift sections of the units are manufactured by US-based Aspen Aerials, which Versalift acquired in 2018. They are then mounted at Versalift’s factories in Denmark prior to being shipped to customers.
