Unevol to be Sandvik’s first dealer in Cuba

Sandvik Construction has announced its intention to give focus to the growing construction market in Cuba, appointing Unevol S.A. as its first distributor of equipment in the country.

In a statement from the company, Sandvik described its commitment to offering ‘locally-focused customer support’ to customers in Cuba, along with the benefits of trading with a global company.

Unevol has been selling and servicing Volvo equipment in Cuba, since its inception in 1998 - from its headquarters in La Lisa, La Habana, and from branches in Holguin and Moa.

Unevol’s general manager, Per Hundevad, said, “Becoming a Sandvik Construction distributor is an important development of our company. With Sandvik’s portfolio of products, Unevol S.A. will now be able to provide drilling, crushing and screening equipment and consumables to our existing customers.”

Kauko Juuri, global distributor manager at Sandvik Construction said, “We are sure that the combination of Sandvik equipment and global aftermarket support, together with the local knowledge and industry expertise of Unevol will enable Sandvik customers throughout the area to benefit from a winning combination.”

Sandvik Construction’s sales manager for Mexico and Central America, Jorge Duarte , spoke of the professionalism and dedication to product support of Unevol’s technical and sales teams, and said, “We are very happy to grant Sandvik distribution to Unevol and be able to actively participate in the great potential growth and development of the infrastructure in Cuba.”
