Revenue up at Boskalis

Dutch dredging contractor Royal Boskalis Westminster has posted a strong third quarter with higher revenue and earnings than in the first and second quarters of the year.

The firm’s order book stood at €4.3 billion, up from the first half of the year.

Boskalis said that it expects the second half of the year to see a strong, stable workload.

Various dredging projects with close-out results before year end. In view of these developments, Boskalis is raising its earnings outlook and now expects a 2013 net profit of at least €360 million.

The firm’s dredging segment achieved a good result in the third quarter, with the deployment of its hopper fleet remaining high. Contracts in South Korea, Russia and Qatar, among others, were added to the order book in the third quarter, which stood at €1.4 billion.
