Point of Rental acquires Syrinx by Higher Concept Software

Syrinx by Higher Concept Software, a rental software development company in the UK, has merged with US-based rental software developer Point of Rental.

Point of Rental said the deal would see the Syrinx hire management programme added to its line of software products. The merger will also bring Point of Rental’s cloud-based software to the European market alongside Syrinx, adding more software options for businesses of all sizes and industries.

While Point of Rental Expert and Syrinx are both scalable to small or mid-sized businesses, Point of Rental Essentials provides cloud-based mobility for straightforward hire and asset needs, and Point of Rental Elite provides customised ERP software built to handle the largest corporations worldwide.

Syrinx will be renamed Point of Rental Software.

Point of Rental currently serves over 2700 customer locations in more than 33 countries, but with the addition of Syrinx’s 2000 customers in more than 10 countries, it said the merger created one of the largest rental software providers in the world.

The companies said the UK offices would continue to operate under Syrinx’s current staff with managing director Mark Goodrum leading the team in Reading. Both companies have offices in Australia that they said would continue to serve and support that market.
