OSHA dust guidelines set for airing at WOC

11 January 2017

OSHA’s (the Occupational Safety and Health Administration) new Respirable Crystalline Silica Standard compliance guidelines for the demolition industry are set to be presented at next week’s World of Concrete exhibition in Las Vegas.

The guidelines, which also cover mineral dust in industries including construction, concrete and aggregates, will be unveiled at a seminar on Thursday January 19 at 1.30pm local time.

Presenting the seminar will be Don Evans, who has extensive experience in OSHA regulation awareness, and David Murray, a safety consultant for the state of Nevada who has similar experience of OSHA construction and general industry regulation compliance.

There will also be an open forum for questions and answers at the end of the seminar, as well as a display of products that abate Crystalline Silica dust, such as tools, vacuum systems and PPE from exhibitors the show.

David Murray said the seminar is highly recommended for site preparation and demolition contractors as well as producers of concrete, cement, brick, block, stone, sand and aggregate products, and the construction trades that install them.
