New Holland to unveil Smart Fleet

The Intermat show will see the official launch of New Holland's Smart Fleet telematics system and as many as 14 new models, including wheel loaders, crawler excavators, backhoe loaders and telescopic handlers.

Among the new introductions are three new backhoe loader models, which feature the Auto Glide Ride system. This introduces improvements to the Glide Ride System available in previous models, and is said to eliminate rebound of the loader when travelling, ensuring maximum retention of the bucket at speeds as high as 40kph. It is automatically activated at speeds over 5kph and deactivated below 5kph for efficient loading.

The C Series wheeled loader range is further extended and completed with the introduction of two new models at the low end of the offering.

The W110C and W130C are said to share the high productivity and fuel efficiency of the models launched in 2011. They feature automatic differential lock on the front axle and New Holland's Tier 4 interim SCR-AdBlue technology. This, together with the open differential, is claimed to result in low fuel consumption and maintenance costs, as the intervals for changing axle oil are 50% longer.

The C Series wheeled loaders range is also being expanded at the top end. The W270C and W300C also rely on New Holland's AdBlue technology to meet Tier 4 interim emissions requirements.

The C Series crawler excavator range is also growing, with the introduction of two models at the high end - the E385C in the 35 tonnes, and E485C at 48 tonne categories - while at the low end, there are the E175C and E195C. The two smaller models feature the SCR-AdBlue technology and high efficiency hydraulic system. The heavy-duty design and undercarriage, side-by-side radiator layout and optimised combustion allowed by SCR technology bring exceptional reliability and durability, said New Holland.

The Smart Fleet telematics system puts the fleet manager in direct contact with each machine, so the entire fleet can be monitored remotely. Maintenance information on each unit can also be accessed.

The data collected from the machine and GPS satellites by the Smart Fleet system is transmitted through the mobile networks to the New Holland Telematics Web Portal, where the fleet manager will be able to view the information.

Customers can order the Smart Fleet system from their New Holland dealer and have it retro-fitted to existing machines in their fleet or have it fitted on a new model, which will come pre-wired from the factory.

Telehandlers

The telescopic handler range from New Holland is being expanded so that it now offers eight models with the addition of the compact 6m LM625.

The new all-access telehandler, which will make its first appearance at the Intermat 2012 show, is described as having compact dimensions - the LM625 is 1.8m wide and less than 2m high. With an operating weight of 4.8 tonnes, it lifts up to 2.5 tonnes and can reach a maximum height of close to 6m.

As with the other New Holland machines, its Smart Fleet telematics system can be fitted on a new model.
