The company said the commission was for SEK 440 million (US$40 million).

Part of a larger project to construct maintenance facilities for new classes of subs in the Norwegian Armed Forces, NCC said the “specially designed docking facility will involve underwater works and extensive concreting works.”

NCC recently constructed new docks and ports at Hammerfest and Forsöl in northern Norway, the experience from which, the company said, “will be put to good use in Bergen.”

“We now have the opportunity to, once again, demonstrate NCC’s expertise in dock construction, which will involve demanding underwater works as well as our ability to manage extensive concreting works in this environment,” said Kenneth Nilsson, head of infrastructure for NCC.

Work is start immediately with completion expected in 2027.
