More aid for Typhoon-hit Philippines

Doosan has donated construction equipment and financial aid to support recovery efforts in the Philippines after Typhoon Haiyan.

The manufacturer has provided five 21.5 tonne DX225LCA excavators and one 1.8 m3 bucket capacity M200 wheeled loader. In addition, it provided KRW 300 million (US$ 300,000), in coordination with the Korean Red Cross, to help disaster-stricken areas.

JCB and Hyundai have also separately donated construction equipment and funds to help with the recovery effort in the Philippines after the storm - one of the most powerful ever recorded on land.

Typhoon Haiyan made landfall on the eastern and central islands of the Philippines on 8 November.

The World Bank has pledged US$ 480 million in financial assistance, and the Asian Development bank granted a US$ 500 million emergency loan.
