Jacobs inaugurates innovation hub in Europe

US-based Jacobs, a full spectrum consulting, technical, scientific, and project delivery services company, announced it will open a an innovation hub in Denmark to “meet growing demand from life sciences, advanced manufacturing and infrastructure clients” in the country.

The company said it has already delivered on projects in the region, and the innovation hub will aid future growth in Denmark.

“The investment in the new hub strengthens the company’s presence in the region, scaling its capacity to support strategically important projects for Danish companies at a domestic and global level,” said Jacobs.

To support the expansion, the firm said it will create up to 100 skilled positions in the country over the next three years.

The hub is said to provide end-to-end services – planning, development, financing, construction, maintenance, and operations – and will serve Jacobs’ global network of approximately 60,000 people, said the company.

Jacobs’ Director of Life Sciences Operations in Denmark, Lene Bjerregaard, said he expected the new hub to strengthen the company’s energy, water and environment, advanced manufacturing, infrastructure, and government services.

“Denmark is home to global leaders in innovation, from health and life sciences to sustainability, advanced manufacturing and tech,” he added. “This, coupled with its strong economy and highly skilled workforce, make it a natural choice to establish our innovation hub.”

The company noted it has been working with clients in Denmark in the biopharma and medicine sectors. Recently, Jacobs did advisory work for the operation and maintenance of the Copenhagen Metro transit system and has worked with the Danish Ministry of Health.

“We’re bringing our deep transportation experience to support The Copenhagen Metro, having helped deliver relevant projects including the Elizabeth line in London, the Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit in Malaysia and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Grand Central Madison programme in New York.”
