Korea's:Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF) has selected Austria-based architects Coop Himmelb(l)au's design as the winning entry for its 40000 m 2 PIFF Cinema Complex and urban plaza in Pusan, South Korea. The US$ 46 million project's urban plaza consists of four overlapping zones - an Urban Valley, a Red Carpet zone, the Walk of Fame and the PIFF Canal Park. There will also be a Cinema Mountain building consisting of six vertically staked cinemas. The whole project will be covered in a “flowing, curvaceous roof”, onto which films will be projected, both inside and out.
