ICEF speaker to examine Internet impact
30 July 2013
IronPlanet chairman & CEO Greg Owens will speak at this year’s International Construction Economic Forum (ICEF) on how the Internet is changing the way to sell construction equipment. The conference takes place from 20 to 22 November at the Hotel Okura in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
IronPlanet is an online marketplace for used heavy equipment. The company says its sellers achieve more profitable sales through low transaction costs as well as better price realisations thanks to a global audience of buyers. IronPlanet is backed by venture capital companies Accel Partners and Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers, along with equipment manufacturers Caterpillar, Komatsu and Volvo.
Mr Owens has previously served as managing director of private equity company Red Zone Capital and chairman & CEO of supply chain management software company Manugistics Group. He holds a B.S. in Industrial Management from Georgia Institute of Technology.
