Takaharu Ikeda, HCME President , said: “We look forward to collaborating with other members of the EDA, sharing our expertise and exchanging information to improve working conditions, standards and training within the dynamic demolition industry.

“By sharing knowledge and expertise, we can continually improve our equipment for the benefit of contractors and operators, ensuring it reaches the highest levels of safety, efficiency and reliability.”

A subsidiary of Hitachi Construction Machinery Co. HCME was established in 1972 in Oosterhout, The Netherlands, and operates across Europe, parts of Africa and Israel.

While it is widely known for its extensive range of general purpose construction equipment, the company’s demolition excavators include high reach models with maximum working heights of up to 40 m, and specially reinforced multi-carrier models for demolition projects.

“Since its humble beginnings five decades ago, HCME has evolved into a successful multinational operation by focusing on engineering excellence and listening to the needs of its customers,” said the EDA.

“The demand for Hitachi construction equipment across all territories has grown steadily, and HCME has gradually extended its network of dealers to meet this demand.”

To support the growing number of Hitachi machines working in its territory, HCME has a dedicated parts facility located in Oosterhout. The 53,000 sq m European Parts Depot supplies dealers and customers, and can stock up to 90,000 parts items.

Today, the company employs over 500 people, based at its headquarters in Amsterdam, and locations in Germany, Italy, France and the UK.
