Turkish construction machinery manufacturer Hidromek has seen a strong start to 2013 and plans to open a new after-sales and dealer support office in Russia in the next two to three months, according to deputy general manager Ahmet Bozkurt.

Speaking to CE during Bauma 2013, Mr Bozkurt said 2012 had been a “perfect year” for the company.

“We saw high sales of our backhoe loaders and excavators throughout last year, and so far the first quarter of 2013 is higher than 2012 – up about 20%,” he said. “Our main markets are Turkey and Russia, and we are also targeting Europe and North Africa. We expect further growth in 2014.”

Head of export Mehmet C Nazim Barbarosoglu said Russia represented a huge market for the manufacturer.

“There is an almost endless demand for construction machines. For our new after-sales and dealer support office, we are considering locations in southern Russia. We already have around 20 dealers in Russia,” Mr Nazim Barbarosoglu said.

Mr Bozkurt continued, “We look forward to expanding our export market through dealers along with our own offices overseas. We currently have 55 dealers in total, and we signed an agreement with our first dealership in Germany during Bauma 2013.”

Hidromek showcased its Gen series of excavators at the show, including the HMK220LC crawler excavator, with a narrow chassis and two-piece boom, and HMK300LC LR long reach excavator.

Hidromek excavators now serve customers who need machines from 15 tonnes up to 38 tonnes, with crawler models HMK220LC (22.3 tonnes), HMK300LC (30.5 tonnes) and HMK370LC (38.3 tonnes), and wheeled models HMK140W (15 tonnes) and HMK200W (21.6 tonnes).

The company also introduced its new backhoe loader series, including the Maestro Series HMK102B which has a Stage IIIB engine.
