Earthmoving additions from Liebherr

Among the new additions to Liebherr earthmoving equipment range is the A 910 Compact, an 11.5 tonne wheeled excavator. Key features include a short tailswing, making it suitable for cramped urban sites. Power comes from a 75kW Deutz diesel engine, which uses a maintenance-free diesel oxidation catalyst to achieve Stage IIIB emissions compliance.

New tracked excavators include the 22 tonne R 922, which replaces the previous R 926 and fits into the range between the R 918 and R 926. Like other machines in the range, it is fitted with Liebherr’s integrated excavator system, which claims to offer fast, smooth control for the operator.

New wheeled loaders include the L 506 C and L 508 C compact machines. With operating weights of 3.5 tonnes and 3.9 tonnes, and with 0.8m³ and 1.0m³ buckets, these machines are designed for a variety of applications in confined spaces. A key feature is their height of just 2.5m, which allows them to work in low headroom environments.

Further up the range, Liebherr has revised its L 524, L 528, L 538 and L 542 mid-range models, which cover the 2.0m³ – 4.0m³ bucket capacities. Engine output and hydraulic power have been increased compared to previous models, and all four machines feature higher tipping loads than their predecessors. They are available with either a Z-bar or parallel linkage front end.

Liebherr’s new large wheeled loaders are the L 550, L556, L576 and L 580, covering the 129kW to 215kW engine classes and 2.6m³ to 4.5m³ standard buckets. Changes compared to previous models include the transverse mounting of the engine on the L 550 and L 556, which gives them more compact dimensions, while the power of the L 576 and L 580 have been increased.

A new addition to Liebherr’s articulated dump truck (ADT) range will be the TA 240, a 40 tonne capacity machine that joins the TA 230 launched at Bauma 2010. The machine features a 27m³ body, which the company says has been specially designed for fast tipping.
