Costain holds record order book

06 November 2013

UK engineering firm Costain has said it currently holds an order book worth a record level of £3 billion (€3.5 billion) in an interim management statement covering the period July 1, 2013, to November 5, 2013.

As well as including over £700 million (€830 million) of revenues secured for 2014, the order book also provides good long-term visibility with around £2.1 billion (€2.5 billion) of revenues secured for 2015 and beyond, the balance of the order book being for the remainder of 2013.

Costain also confirmed that it holds a strong preferred bidder position on more than £400 million (€475 million) worth of contracts.

Work won this year includes an AMP6 (asset management plan period) programme for Thames Water; a number of contracts for Crossrail including the design, fit-out and commissioning of the railway systems; and a contract with EDF to design and deliver the water cooling systems for the Hinkley Point C new nuclear power station.

Costain said, “Following its strong performance in the first half of 2013, the group is continuing to perform well, in line with the board's expectations.

“Integration of EPC Offshore, acquired on 1 August, 2013, is progressing well and on schedule.”
