CNH to close Georgia plant

01 July 2014

CNH Industrial has announced it will close its plant in Calhoun, Georgia, US in the third quarter of next year. The construction equipment factory makes dozers and excavators.

The company said the closure was necessary as it adjusted its construction equipment business to current market demand. It added that the plan was consistent with its long-term strategy of optimising its manufacturing footprint into a lean and flexible operation.

Bret Lieberman, CNH Industrial vice president of manufacturing for North America said, “We are grateful to our employees in Calhoun and will work closely with them during this transition. Closing this plant simply provides the best options for meeting CNH Industrial’s current and future business needs.”
