CE Barometer for November: Q4 sees a significant fluctuation

The CE Barometer survey for November was undertaken during the first three weeks of December.

Construction professionals across Europe participated in this month’s CE Barometer survey.

Results from the barometer have been on a steady decline since May 2023 and results in Q4 have fluctuated significantly.

Looking to a year’s time, respondents anticipate business levels to be worse with 38.2% of votes. Only 26.5% believe that business levels will be better next November whilst 35.3% are hopeful that levels remain the same.

Compared to a year ago, results are not optimistic. Over half (58.8%) of respondents said that business levels are worse than this time last year. This is an increase of 5.5% from October’s barometer.

Despite the lack of optimism, respondents largely feel that business levels are the same as last month. As Q4 comes to a close it is pleasing to see that there have been no dramatic changes.

The year 2023 started off well, but Q3 was challenging for many and it appears that there have been the same sentiments in Q4.
