A Bilfinger Berger and Leighton Holdings consortium in Australia has won the € 160 million contract to upgrade a section of Brisbane's Gateway motorway. Construction will start immediately with completion scheduled for this summer.

The project includes widening a 4 km long section to six lanes and raises Bilfinger Berger's total contract value on the Gateway motorway to over € 550 million since 2006.

Bilfinger Berger has worked on the design, expansion and maintenance of the new motorway link and has already completed projects including the expansion of over 20 km of motorway as well as the construction and modernisation of bridges linking Brisbane harbour with the airport.
