Bauma fully booked with a year to go

By Chris Sleight22 May 2012

Exhibition space for the Bauma 2013 show in Munich, Germany is fully booked, despite another 15,000 m2 being added. At 570,000 m2, next year's event looks set to be the largest construction equipment exhibition ever held.

Bauma will be held from April 15 to 21, 2013. The show runs on a three year cycle, and was last held in 2010, when, despite travel disruption from the Iceland's volcanic ash cloud, 420,000 visitors attended from more than 200 countries. Some 3256 exhibitors took space at the 2010 show.

For 2013, an additional 15,000 m2 of space has been found at the north-west corner of the exhibition site. Georg Moller, exhibition group director for show organiser Messe M√ľnchen International said, "With this additional space we can now admit more exhibitors than at the last event. Nevertheless it is still not possible to accommodate all those who want to take part, or to meet in full the space requirements of all participants."
