Australian first

25 April 2008

Designs for the Norman Foster designed 27 storey Deutsche Bank Place for Sydney's CBD lay on the drawing board for almost five years before Bovis became involved in the scheme. The concept was a radical departure from a traditional office and Bovis used scale prototypes to develop a workable design solution.

The tower's atrium stretches the full 240 m height - the largest in Australia - and is the first building in the country to feature a remote core which allows the 1440 m2 floor plates to be completely column free. Lifts in the tower have been placed within open steel framed lift shafts in the detached core to provide passengers with views over the city and harbour. Construction of Deutsche Bank Place was completed last year.
