Atlas Copco has appointed Nico Delvaux as president of its new construction technique business division, effective 1 October, 2011.

Mr Delvaux is currently president of the company's compressor technique service division. The new construction technique business was formed on 1 July after Atlas Copco split its construction and mining technique division into two separate groups - one for mining and rock excavation and one for construction.

Besides including the road construction equipment (Dynapac branded machines) and construction tools, the new construction technique division also includes portable compressors and generators - formerly part of the company's compressor technique business.

Atlas Copco said it expected the construction technique division to report annual revenues of around SEK11.2 billion (€1.2 billion). The company said Mr Delvaux would be tasked with achieving strong volume growth and profitability through developing the business area's market presence and products.

He will be based in Antwerp, Belgium, until 1 July, 2012, when he will relocate to China.
