Expansive construction equipment manufacturer Zoomlion Cifa has opened a production site in Brazil, announced plans for new sales and service subsidiary in France and reported growth in UK orders.

The new facilities in France and Brazil are for Zoomlion's concrete construction equipment subsidiary Cifa, an Italian manufacturer which it acquired in 2008.

Zoomlion Cifa Brazil is situated in the city of Indaiatuba, about 90 km from San Paolo. The 22,000 m2 facility is dedicated to the production of concrete machinery, and has a manufacturing capacity of over 1,200 machines a year.

Machines to be produced on site include truck mixers from 8 to 10 m3 capacity, dosing and batching plants, concrete pumps and stationary booms. The site also includes a spare parts warehouse, a test area, an administrative department and an exhibition area for machines.

And in France, Zoomlion Cifa plans to open a new a sales and service subsidiary. After 11 years of collaboration with dealer Palfinger, Zoomlion said the company would now operate directly in the market.

The new facility will be located near to Lyon, but will have a network of authorised workshops spread over the whole territory representing both the Cifa and Zoomlion brands.

Meanwhile, Cifa also reported growth in the UK market. One of its dealers in the country, Spanners Mixer Hire, has sold its first order for truck mixers.

Cifa said nearly 30 truck mixers are about to arrive on the market and it was also seeing renewed interest from large cement producers including Cemex, Lafarge and Heidelberg.

It said another dealer, Danfords, has also just delivered three concrete pumps to end customers and has received two further orders.

Renato Biavati, Cifa Europe area manager, said, β€œIt is the sign of a renewed vitality of the English market, and this gives us energy to propose our products in a territory that has never been among the main market destinations.”
