Trimble will feature its new Flex family of machine control solutions, including the rugged GCSFlex for excavators.

Trimble will demonstrate its Connected Site portfolio for heavy civil contractors at Intermat.

Trimble said that Connected Site was integrated construction technology that transformed the way design engineers, contractors and job-site crews could tackle their grading and excavation jobs. What used to be done manually can now be completed more efficiently and accurately with a mix of GPS, construction lasers, total stations, wireless data communications, the internet and application software.

There will be demonstrations of real-time, two-way data flow between the office and GPS or total station positioning systems used for staking, grade checking, site supervision, or inspection of work. It will also show the productivity improvements from real-time, two-way data for grade control systems, which creates an intelligent live link between the machines and the office.

It also plans a demonstration of the "connected community" powered by Trimble. Using the Internet, contractors can integrate head office, site office and field crew operations in a communication portal that can be accessed by construction project stakeholders to exchange project-related information in a timely and secure fashion.

Local Sitech construction technology dealers offer the complete Trimble Connected Site solution. At the booth, Trimble will partner with Sitech distributors to show how two-way data transfer and real-time communications connect workflows and increase productivity across the jobsite.

In addition, Trimble will feature its new Flex family of machine control solutions. The rugged GCSFlex for excavators and CCSFlex for soil and asphalt compactors are described as easy-to-install, easy-to-learn and easy-to-use. They are designed specifically to offer small to mid-sized contractors a reliable, flexible and affordable option to leverage machine control technology and make them more competitive.
