Salini Impregilo lands second Nigerian road contract

Salini Impregilo has won the contract for Phase II of the upgrade of the Suleja-Minna highway in Nigeria. The project to expand 101 km the road to a dual carriageway is valued at € 112 million (US$ 125 million).

The contract includes the construction of a new road between kilometre 60 and kilometre 101 of the highway, and the complete rehabilitation of the existing road from kilometre 0 to kilometre 101. The client for the four-year project is Nigeria’s Ministry of Public Works.

This arterial road connects the capital of Abuja to the northwest of the country. Salini Impregilo added it is also involved in the construction of Phase I of the Suleja-Minna road which is now 70% complete.
