New contracts worth US$ 327 million for Tutor Perini

Tutor Perini has reported new contracts worth US$ 327 million for a range of construction projects, including a US$ 147 million rail project in New York.

The contractor said it was the low bidder for a project to build a substation for the Long Island railroad project in Queens, New York, and it expected to receive the final award for the contract from the Metropolitan Transit Authority Capital Construction in the coming months.

The project involves construction of below-grade facilities for the Plaza substation and is scheduled to take three years to complete.

Meanwhile, the US Department of State for worldwide construction projects has awarded Tutor Perini an indefinite delivery and quantity contract for the design and construction of site infrastructure and pre-fabricated containerised housing and office units to support US diplomatic missions around the world.

An initial project awarded under contract worth US$ 107 million involves constructing consulate facilities in Southern Iraq and is due for completion February 2012.

The contractor has also been awarded a US$ 73 million contract by the US Navil Facilities Engineering Command Marianas to construct an aircraft parking apron at Andersen Air Force Base in Guam. The project, expected to be completed by July 2013, includes construction of a concrete parking apron and hot mix asphalt apron replacement pavement together with aircraft washing facilities and fuelling stations.
