Mecalac launches three swing loaders

Construction equipment manufacturer Mecalac has expanded its range of swing loaders with the addition of three models; the AS750, AS850 and AS1000.

Like the manufacturer’s existing AS600, AS900tele, AS1600 and AS210 machines, the new swing loaders feature an arm that “pivots instead of moving” up to 180-degrees and offers a 20% smaller turning circle than conventional loaders.

According to Mecalac, this allows operators to spend less time carrying out separate manoeuvres, thereby increasing productivity and reducing the risk of accidents.

It also means that the models produce less noise and require less maintenance.

In addition to 2-wheel and 4-wheel steering modes, the AS-Series machines also offer 4-wheel crab steering, which is said to increase productivity by enabling operators to manoeuvre and swivel at the same time.

The AS750, which is the smallest of the new machines but the “big sister” to Mecalac’s AS600 swing loader, has an operating weight of 5 tonnes.

It was designed to provide a high level of stability and incorporates a larger width and an increased wheelbase (1,870 mm) in comparison to similar models.

While the AS750 is fitted with a 45 kW (61 hp) engine for a high lifting and loading capacity, the 6-tonne AS850 model includes a rigid chassis, a new arm and “Z” bucket kinematics for “digging power and precision”.

Similarly, the 6.6-tonne AS1000 is designed for efficiency and “speed of execution”. It features a 4-cylinder, 55.4 kW (75 hp) engine that delivers 375 Nm of torque, and is available with a high-flow hydraulic line option that offers up to 120 l/min for attachments.

All three Mecalac models are available globally from the manufacturer’s authorised dealers.
