Equippo's resale value risk map was designed to help equipment resellers and dealers anticipate when young-used equipment might be exporting to developing markets.

Online used equipment market Equippo has introduced a resale value risk map to help users analyse which countries would be able to operate young used equipment by 2019.

The map was said to bring together multiple sources of data, industry experts, and experience to present the issues of strict new off-highway diesel emissions laws in the US and EU.

The map also analyses fuel quality in developing nations, and de-tiering options offered by engine manufacturers in order to project which countries would support US Tier 4 Final and EU Stage IV equipment by 2019.

The idea was to organise a complicated topic into an easy-to-digest visual format, according to the company, and help equipment resellers and dealers anticipate when young-used equipment might be exporting to developing markets.

“The topic is very relevant for contractors and rental companies, as Tier IV units that will not be easily downgradable when they are ready for export will likely be hit by major drops in resale value”, Equippo said.

“Similarly, if some equipment can only be downgraded for fuel with medium sulphur content, these models will no longer be in demand in all their current export markets and some impact on resale values is still to be expected”, the company added.

The map can be downloaded from www.equippo.com. Click through to the website’s blog page to find out more.

Launched on 17 November last year, Equippo claimed it was the first internet marketplace to offer complete transaction management for both buyers and sellers, navigating customs duties, shipping costs and heavy hauling costs even down to police escort fees for international equipment transactions.
