Saudi Arabian Cayan Group – famed for its twisted tower project in Dubai – has named Shapooriji Pallonji International as the main contractor on its latest project in the emirate.

The Cayan Cantara is a two-tower development, comprising 38 storeys of hotel apartments on one side and 42 storeys of residential apartments on the other.

The asymmetric towers will be connected close to the top of the shorter building by twin bridges, a key facet of the design from Japanese architecture firm Nikken Sekkei and UAE-based Dewan Architects.

The total footprint of the project is just over 32,000 m2, with the hotel and residential towers standing at 150.5 m and 175 m in height respectively.

In a statement, a spokesman for the Cayan Group said excavation work on the project have now been completed and main construction work is set to commence within a month.

Mohan Saini of Shapoorji Pallonji International said, “Developing Cayan Cantara will be an exciting project, especially as we bring to life some of its architectural delights. We welcome the challenges involved in building this beautiful masterpiece without compromising on quality.”
