Chile’s roads director to give keynote speech at Latin American Road Building conference

The director of Chile’s public roads programme, Mario Fernández, will give the keynote speech at the Latin American Road Building conference in Santiago, Chile on 20 October this year.

Mr Fernández, National Director of Public Roads at the Ministry of Public Works, is a senior figure in Chile’s infrastructure sector and an authority on the country’s road investment plans. At the conference he will outline his vision for the road network for 2015-20.

Joining Mr Fernández in the speaker line-up is another senior representative from Chile’s road industry, German Millan, vice president of Chile’s road and transport association, ACCT Chile, and president of the civil engineering group within Chile’s Association of Engineers. Mr Millan will consider the issue of dispute resolution in engineering contracts.

The Latin American Road Building Conference is organised by KHL Group and its magazines Construction Latin America and International Construction, and will be held in Santiago, Chile on 20 October, the day before the start of the Conexpo Latin America exhibition.

The conference is officially supported by Conexpo Latin America and is part of the exhibition’s educational programme. The event is targeted at specialist road building contractors and general contractors throughout Latin America. It will be conducted in Spanish with simultaneous translations into English and Portuguese.
