Case launches CX 220C excavator in India

Equipment manufacturer Case has launched its CX 220C crawler excavator in India, in order to strengthen its position in the country’s construction market.

In addition to offering the model for sale, the company – part of CNH Industrial – has also made the model available for short-term rental so customers can try it before purchasing.

Raunak Varma, Country Manager, CNH Industrial India, said, “Case India embarks on a new journey with it’s made in India excavator. With the launch of our new product today, we have expanded our offering to include the largest segment in the Indian equipment market.

“As one of the biggest construction equipment markets and one of the fastest growing economies in the world, India forms a key part of our growth strategy”.

The CX 220C model, which is made at the company’s plant in Pithampur (Madhya Pradesh), is said to be designed for tough applications such as quarrying, road works and earthworks, as well as general construction jobs.

Featuring a 6-cylinder FPT Industrial engine, the 22-ton tracked excavator has auto, heavy and super power modes, along with five energy controls and an ECO gauge that helps to reduce fuel costs.

The CX 220C is equipped with a 7-inch LCD colour monitor for parameter monitoring and setting, and a telematics system for real time updates. Technology within the machine also lets operators to store up to 10 auxiliary hydraulic flow and pressure settings to allow easy switching between different attachments.

In addition, the model’s HVAC-equipped cabin also has an adjustable ergonomic seat for operator comfort and a new vibration dampening system to help prevent body fatigue.

The CX220C was premiered at the EXCON construction trade fair in India in 2019. Since then Case has taken the model on roadshows across the country to demonstrate it to customers.
